	Appointment Policy For your convenience and to ensure that your pet is seen in a timely manner, please make an appointment for patients to be seen by a staff veterinarian. Patients arriving without appointments to be seen by the doctor will be seen on a first come-first serve basis with scheduled appointments given priority. Emergencies shall receive appropriate priority. An appointment is required for boarding or grooming. Please make appointments by calling our office at 816-628-4035 during regular office hours. Appointments may also be requested using your Pet Portal. Appointments requested through your Pet Portal are not final until confirmed by our office. Please call our office as soon as possible if you are unable to keep an existing appointment. This courtesy will allow us to more effectively serve others.
	Pre-Surgical Policy Most routine surgical and dental procedures are scheduled on an out-patient basis. When an appointment is made for surgery, someone from our staff will discuss what the client's responsibilities will be to have the patient prepared for surgery when it arrives. Most surgeries will require that food and water be withheld the night before surgery. Pre-Anesthetic Blood Profiles may be performed the morning of surgery or prior to the day of surgery within a time determined appropriate by the attending veterinarian. All patients undergoing a general anesthesia procedure will have a pre-anesthesia examination performed by the attending veterinarian the day of surgery. Please arrive with your pet at the clinic between 8:00am and 8:15am the morning of the scheduled procedure.
	For Our Overnight Patients We do not have someone on the premises after hours. However, for the security of our patients our clinic is equipped with a fire/burglar alarm system. Patients with medical concerns that remain at our office after regular office hours are monitored and their needs managed as determined appropriate by the attending veterinarian.
	After-Hours Emergencies We want to ensure emergency care is available for our patients. Call 816-628-4035 after-hours to be directed to the doctor on-call. When contacted, the doctor will initially ask you describe the nature of your emergency. If the doctor feels he can effectively address your needs on an after-hours basis he will arrange to meet you and your pet at the clinic. If your pet's needs potentially require overnight hospitalization, monitoring, continuous IV medications, IV fluid therapy or a level of care requiring intensive care monitoring, you may be referred to the Animal Emergency Center. If you feel your pet's needs are immediately life-threatening or you do not receive a return call within a reasonable period of time, we encourage that you call the Animal Emergency Center and transport your pet to their location. Go west on Highway 152 to North Oak Trafficway. Then go south on North Oak Trafficway to the Animal Emergency Center just 1/4 mile south of Barry Road.
	Payment Options Payment is expected at the time services are rendered. An initial deposit may be required when extended stays are expected for medical reasons, with certain surgical procedures or when boarding for extended periods. Payment in full is due at the time of discharge or completed service. We accept cash, personal checks drawn on local banks, MasterCard and VISA. For our clients needing to arrange payment for veterinary services, we will be happy to assist in the brief application process for CareCredit® payment plans. CareCredit® offers a variety of no-interest short term payment plans or long term payment plans at competitive interest rates for qualifying individuals.
