I am the owner of The Animal Clinic of Kearney and staff veterinarian.  I grew up in Kearney and am a 1980 graduate of the University Of Missouri College Of Agriculture where I received a Bachelors of Science in Agriculture.  In 1983 I graduated from the University Of Missouri College Of Veterinary Medicine as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine.  I served as an associate veterinarian for practices in both Colorado and Oklahoma prior to moving back to Kearney and opening The Animal Clinic of Kearney in 1988.  I enjoy all aspects of small animal medicine but have interests in surgery and special diagnostic procedures.  My professional memberships include the American Veterinary Medical Association, American Animal Hospital Association, Missouri Veterinary Medical Association and the Kansas City Veterinary Medical Association.

I am married and have two sons.  My wife, Cheryl, also works at the clinic and manages the office.  My oldest son, Nathan, lives in Denver and my youngest son, Brett, attends Truman State University.  We have an Australian Shepherd, “Maggie” and one cat,  “Truman”.  In my free time I keep busy with family activities and enjoy just about anything that involves being outdoors. I am a self-proclaimed "do-it-yourselfer" and enjoy the challenge of a home project.  I enjoy cycling and spend many hours on the county roads and trails around our home.  I am a member of the First United Methodist Church of Kearney and have served on various committees.  My most satisfying contribution has been as a member of the building committee that facilitated the relocation of the church to its present facility.  I have supported and coached youth sports and am a past member and parade chairman of the Jesse James Festival held here each September.

I would like to introduce myself to everyone so you can become more familiar with me.  I joined The Animal Clinic of Kearney during the summer of 2010 as a part-time associate veterinarian.  I grew up in the Kansas City area and graduated from Kansas State University with degrees in Biology in 1994 and Veterinary Medicine in 1999.  I have been working as a veterinarian in the Kansas City area since graduation.  I chose to work at the Animal Clinic of Kearney because of the staff’s dedication to quality medicine and patient care.  It is important to me to be part of an AAHA Accredited Clinic in my own home town.  I enjoy my work very much and have a special interest in small mammals (pocket pets) and reptiles.  I work at The Animal Clinic of Kearney the 4th Saturday of each month.

I am married and have two sons.  My family and I live just outside Kearney and really enjoy the area.  We have three cats and two horses.  When not working I love being with my children and riding my horses.  We enjoy traveling and being outdoors as much as we can.  We are active members of our church and volunteer out time there.  I hope to be able to meet you and your pets in the near future.

    Office Manager / Receptionist
I have been a part of The Animal Clinic of Kearney since Dr. Morris first opened in 1988.  I am excited to celebrate 26 years and to have the Clinic AAHA Accredited since 2008.  My duties are many as I manage the business office and front desk.  I love greeting our clients as they arrive at the clinic and visiting with them in person or on the phone.  I enjoy working with our clinic staff and take pride that we all have the common goal of providing the best veterinary care possible for each pet.  I have enjoyed watching the practice grow from a small office space to the modern facility we moved into in 1996 to accommodate our customer’s needs and changing technology.

My husband (Dr. Morris) and I reside just outside Kearney and have two sons, Nathan and Brett.  Nathan, our oldest, is a MU graduate and now lives in Denver.   Brett attends Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri and is a percussionist majoring in music education.

I stay active in my Church and teach Sunday School.  I also participate in various school and community activities including Relay for Life.  We have one dog, “Maggie”, a very busy Aussie and one cat, “Truman”, who thinks he is a dog!  I enjoy cooking, volunteer work, kickboxing, walking and supporting my family with all their activities.

Every morning you will find me at the Front Desk answering phones and checking in patients for the day.  I enjoy meeting all of the pets and their owners.  I love knowing I am a part of keeping them healthy and happy.  I take pride in being a part of such a hard working and friendly team dedicated to animal health and welfare.  Since starting at The Animal Clinic of Kearney in July of 2007, I have learned a lot about preventative healthcare for pets.  I have even learned to provide preventative oral care for my own cats.

I have lived in the Kearney community since 1993.  I was born in Omaha, NE.  I have also lived in Lenexa, KS and Aurora, CO.  My fiancé, Kevin, and my daughter, Shandra share our home with 2 cats “Salem” and “Squiggy” and our dog “Sydney”.

I have been grooming for approximately 8.5 years (both dogs and cats). I love being a Pet Stylist because it gives me satisfaction knowing it makes the animal feel better and love seeing the joy on the customer's face when they see their pet all clean and groomed.  I always try to make sure all the pets have a great experience during grooming so they are excited to come to be groomed again.

I am excited to working at the Animal Clinic of Kearney, LLC because it is an AAHA facility, great staff to work with and I have lived in the Kearney community for 15+ years.

I am married, have an awesome daughter, recently received my Bachelor's Degree in Business Management from NAU.  My  personal pets include a Bruno (boxer), Harley (miniature pinscher) and 2 horses.  I love the outdoors and enjoy movie night, game nights with the family.

I look forward to  helping you with your pet(s)' grooming needs on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Fridays.
